Vidya will be seen as a six-month pregnant woman throughout Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani

Vidya Balan will be seen in a totally different avatar in Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani. The actress will be seen as a woman with a six-month baby belly. And it is not just in passing. The actress will be seen with a big bump throughout the film.

Shot in Kolkata and London the film will be out some time mid 2011. A source reveals, "Vidya's character is that of a pregnant woman whose husband travels from London to India for work. However, he goes missing and she comes to Kolkata in search of him."

Not without her

Sujoy, who just wrapped the Kolkata schedule, confirms, "It's the story of a woman who's six months pregnant and her journey. I had written the script keeping Vidya in mind. I wouldn't have made the film without her. For me she's a perfectionist who has beautifully brought the character alive."

He adds that she met the challenges of playing an expecting mom rather well, "She made it look so effortless. She never compromised on any aspect of filmmaking. Since cinema is a visual medium it was very important for her to look the part. There is lot of simplicity in her character and at the same time great turmoil within.

Also there were boundaries because a pregnant woman isn't Batman or Superman. She can't do much, there's only so much you can make her do. But the beauty lies in the vulnerability and subtle nuances that she's used to play the character."

Hot Chitrangada to pair with John Abraham

John Abraham and Chitrangada Singh will be paired opposite each other in Shrishti Arya's untitled production

The romantic comedy is being directed by Kapil Sharma; the son of astronaut Rakesh Sharma, who was the first Indian to travel into space. It goes on floors next month.

It is learnt that Shrishti fell in love with the script and decided to cast John, as she felt it suited his playboy image.

Chitrangada has been cast opposite the Dostana hunk. Talks are on with three others actresses to play the parallel leads.

Hip take on trends

Sharma who makes his debut as a director with this project, has worked as a first assistant on Drona, Being Cyrus and the Hollywood film The Darjeeling Limited.

He says, "More than just being a romcom, it is an urban, hip and cool take on today's trends and culture. I think there can't be anyone better than John who represents that bracket. He not only has international good looks, but is also a Mumbai boy."

About his leading lady, he says, "I find her very sophisticated and gorgeous, but equally in tune with her culture and values.

It's an exciting combination to have these two actors in the same film. Both John and Chitrangada play characters that are extremely real and easy to identify with.

They won't be caricatures that one usually finds in our movies."

Lara and Mahesh Bhupathi wed on Feb 19, Its Officially Declared

It is final for now that India's ace tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi is getting married with Lara Dutta in a plush hotel in Goa on Feb 19.

Bhupathi, who is now here, recently divorced Shweta Jaishankar, to resume his second innings in conjugal life, media reports said on Thursday.

Both Lara and Mahesh love Goa and they have decided to spend their holidays there to make the wedding memorable.

Earlier, Lara was in serious relationships, first with Kelly Dorje and then with Dino Morea.

But both did not work out, the reports said.

Hit Anushka gets her place in Patiala House with Akki

Anushka Sharma has taken precedence in new posters in stead of Rishi Kapoor

The first look poster of Nikhil Advani's Patiala House was to initially feature only Akshay Kumar and Rishi Kapoor as the film focuses on the emotional father-son relationship that their characters share.

However, after the recent success of Band Baaja Baaraat, the makers have decided to chuck it and use the Anushka-Akshay jodi to promote the film.

A source reveals, "Though there's a parallel track of cricket and supporting characters, the central theme is the father-son (Akki plays Gattu while Rishi plays his Bauji) relationship.

The initial poster was made keeping this sentiment in mind. Their strategy was to promote the film as a father-son story with lot of emotional drama."

The marketing team of the film will now be using the poster with Akki and Anushka to promote it. It is believed that things changed with the success of Yash Raj's Band Bajaa Baaraat.

"After the positive response to Anushka, the makers decided to pitch the film as a love story between Akshay and her rather than a dad-son drama.

As a result the poster also underwent a change with Rishi going in the background with rest of the cast."

However, director Nikhil Advani claims they always had option of using many posters, "Anushka is a great actress and we are happy that she is a part of Patiala House.

She has proved her talent and charm in her recent hit as well.

So all in all, it's going to be a good experience in Patiala House. Plus, using multiple posters to draw in the audiences was always part of our strategy."

The spotlight is on Katrina Kaif these days. The media's prying eyes in Katrina's private life seems to drive her nuts. After rumours of a split between Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina, Bollywood were buzzing with rumours that Katrina was probably trying to make her relationship work with her ex boyfriend, Salman Khan.

Quite a number of celebrities from tinsel town had flown to Dubai to celebrate the New Year and Salman was also one of them. Rumours were rife that Katrina will probably bury the past and join Salman in Dubai for the festivities.

Vidya Balan spends her 33rd birthday with her parents

Vidya Balan turns 33 on January 1. The actress plans on bringing in her birthday and the new year at her parents' place in Khar.

Initially, she was planning to spend the special day with friends, but given the fact that she's been on the road promoting No One Killed Jessica for the last few weeks, Balan wants to be with her mom and dad.

A source close to Vidya says, "She's been in and out of Mumbai for the last six months. Earlier she was shooting for Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani for almost two months.

After that she got into the promotion of Jessica travelling to almost every major city. Her schedule hasn't given her any chance to spend time with her parents."

Since her birthday and New Year fall on the same day, Vidya has a double reason to celebrate.

Despite buying a new apartment in Khar, the actress wasn't able to renovate the place or spend time in it. Her New Year resolution is to buy some antique furniture and do up her place.

Every year, Vidya prefers to keep her birthday a low-key affair. Rather than go out with friends, she enjoys spending quality time with her parents. "This year will be no different.

She will bring in her birthday and the new year at her parents' house. Since she doesn't believe in cutting a cake, her mom plans to prepare a sweet dish on the occasion."

Scoop: War over, Shah Rukh Khan in Hrithik's Krrish 2

SRK offered role in the Hrithik Roshans' superhero sequel

Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan have been bonding big time for a while now. Their personal rapport is likely to extend to a professional level as well. King Khan has been offered a role in the Roshans' home production Krrish 2.

Says a source, "Shah Rukh and Hrithik are the best of pals in the industry today. It was but natural for Roshan Sr to etch a role in his son's flick for his buddy as well. SRK's character in the film will have shades of gray to it."

Adds the source, "The Roshans have already sounded Khan off about having him in their project. And he has told them that he can be available only after the release of his production Ra.One."

The sequel to Rakesh Roshan's 2006 flick has been in the pipeline for a while. After the debacle of Kites and Guzaarish, papa Roshan has taken it upon himself to ensure that his son's career gets back on track.

And considering that Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish did well at the B-O, it is time Duggu wore his superhero cape to create magic again on screen.

Buzz is that Deepika Padukone has been finalised for Krissh 2.

Roshan Sr however maintains, "We have not yet finalised the cast for Krrish 2. We are still working on the script after which I will begin casting. Presently I am out of the country."

The last time SRK and Hrithik came together on screen was in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001).

This year Goa is passe and Dubai is the new favourite celeb destination. A number of B-Town folk are in the desert emirate to celebrate Salman Khan's 45th birthday today.

Every year, the actor brings in his big day at their Panvel farmhouse but this year, the 'Khan'daan and 40 friends flew to Dubai for the merrymaking.

Says a source, "Salman didn't want to bring in his birthday at the farmhouse this time. Though it rocks for the guests, his family members end up playing hosts and don't enjoy themselves.

So he decided to have them party without the headache of taking care of everyone.

Dubai is almost like Salman's second home and it was an obvious decision. Initially he wanted to take all his pals and family on a friend's aircraft but it wasn't available so they travelled by Emirates."

Salman, his parents Salim and Salma besides Helen, his sisters Arpita, Alvira with husband Atul Agnihotri and brother Sohail with wife Seema and son Nirvaan left yesterday morning.

Pals make it special

Says a friend of Salman, "We have planned a special surprise for him on his birthday. Though he knows that we are all in Dubai, we want to make it very special for him this year."

Sajid Nadiadwala and his wife Wardha and David Dhawan flew out yesterday afternoon. The guests are all staying at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai."

Salman is slated to be back in Mumbai on December 30 to shoot for Bigg Boss on December 31.

Though Malaika Arora Khan with hubby Arbaaz and son Arhaan left for Dubai on Sunday morning, she will back in Mumbai today due to work commitments. Arbaaz and Arhaan will stay back with the Khan-daan.

Spilling the beans (pun intended) on popular chat show Koffee With Karan has become more the norm than the exception.

The latest news from the sets is that Lara Dutta and fianc © Mahesh Bhupathi have confessed to KJo that they plan to tie the knot in February next year.

Says our source, "Lara and Hesh appeared on the show on Wednesday night. When the KWK host quizzed them about their relationship and romance, they spoke openly and even discussed marriage plans.

When Karan asked them outright about the marriage date, they promptly replied that it would be in February 2011 and that their families were in the process of fixing the date.

Lara even told KJo how the tennis ace proposed to her in New York on Sept 12 this year."

The couple even replied to queries regarding past relationships. Bhupathi was claimed to be the reason behind the actress dumping Dino Morea while some reports even said Lara was responsible for the divorce of Hesh and model Shwetha Jaishankar.

"They spoke candidly about their respective exes and cleared the air on how those relationships were over before theirs started," reveals our source.

Dutta has been previously linked to model Kelly Dorje.

She has been seeing Bhupathi for the last year, ever since the doubles specialist separated from his wife in '09. Mahesh announced the engagement on his Twitter page.

The jodi got engaged when Hesh was in New York for the US Open and Lara was there for a magazine photo shoot.

Bhupathi's Big Daddy Productions and Lara's Bheegi Basanti Production are co-producing Challo Dilli along with Eros International. Recently, the first shooting schedule was completed last month.

Recently, when the actress was in Ahmedabad at Gulmohar Mall to promote her forthcoming film No One Killed Jessica, a besotted fan approached her and handed her a jewellery box that contained the ring.

Her admirer refused to leave till she accepted the gift. She chatted with him and posed for a few pictures too.

A source close to Balan confirms, "Yes, a fan gave her a diamond ring. But more than the ring, she was touched by the sweet poem he wrote for her, which he presented to her along with the ring."

The actress, a poet herself, was touched by the gesture. In her free time, Vidya pens poetry in Urdu.

She's a big fan of Gulzar saab and Mirza Ghalib's poetry and has long cherished a dream of publishing a book of her work.

The source further reveals that this is not the first time that the actress has received jewellery from one of her admirers.

"A few months ago, a guy left a pair of diamond earrings for her along with a letter, expressing his ardent love and admiration for her at the gate of her Andheri residence.

Veena Malik gone; will Ashmit Patel be cornered?

After Sara Khan, Ashmit Patel has had to bid farewell to another ‘good friend’ Veena Malik, who was evicted from Bigg Boss this Friday.

Ranbir Kapoor says Sorry to Deepika Padukone

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor creates a lot of drama in font of the house of Deepika Padukone on Sunday night. The actor was in a bit inebriated condition and dropped in front of Deepika’s house at around 12:45 Pm in a bid to say sorry. The actress was not in a mood to allow him and asked the security guard to goon with his duty.

According to the eye witness, Cozy home apartments guard was adamant on his words and did not allow the star, despite huge bribery by Ranbir and also literally falling on his legs. Ranbir was dressed in jeans and white T shirt and started to create a ruckus.

However, after an hour long wait, Ranbir Kapoor was allowed inside by Deepika, in order to avoid media attention. Ranbir started to shout at Deepika’s balcony, with the word sorry and this melted the heart of the beauty and allowed him inside. But sources say that, Ranbir was saying sorry, for the heated argument he had with her last week and also was apologizing to her, from his parent’s side as well.

It is a fact that Deepika Padukone has also got rid of the RK tattoo from her hand.

The actress has begun training to look fit for Shirish Kunder's Joker Farah Khan made Katrina Kaif hit the gym with a vengeance to look sizzling for the Sheila Ki Jawani track in Tees Maar Khan.

The actress worked out with trainer Yasmin Karachiwala who has her fitness centre in Bandra. Now it is Sonakshi Sinha's turn.

The Dabangg actress who features in Farah's hubby Shirish Kunder's Joker has also begun training with Yasmin. The movie has Akshay Kumar as her co-star and goes on the floors early 2011.

Says a source, "It was Farah who suggested that Kat start training with Yasmin as preparation for the Sheila Ki Jawani track months in advance to have a super bod for the shoot.

They are now doing likewise for Shatrughan Sinha's daughter."

Adds the source, "Sonakshi has to knock off inches for Joker. Her role demands a fit and toned body. She has begun her workouts with Yasmin as preparation for the movie."

Says Sonakshi, "I heard about Yasmin from a friend and was tired of doing the same old workout, so I made the switch!

She's very good and I'm enjoying my workout, feeling and looking better! It's good to be fit and Yasmin is helping me achieve exactly that!"

Before the shoot of Dabangg began, Sonakshi lost oodles of weight thanks to the motivation provided by co-star Salman Khan. Shatrughan Sinha's daughter lost all her flab after an extensive diet and fitness schedule.

Actress Kangana Ranaut reportedly walked out of the upcoming Balaji Telefilms project Ragini MMS after she acquired cold feet on hearing that the upcoming Bollywood film is replete with explicit content.

Although the reports have not been confirmed by the actress or her representatives in Bollywood, it is to be assumed that this is the reason why Kangana Ranaut said no to the project because a lot was being written on the sexual content and skin show that the lead character would have to engage in. Kangana was to play the lead role of Ragini in the forthcoming film.

The association between Kangana Ranaut and Balaji Telefilms started after their 2010 film together Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai.

Kangana played one of the lead roles in the film which was declared a hit. After this she was regarded as the best choice for Ragini MMS because Kangana Ranaut is not shown to shy away from intimate scenes onscreen.

However, the actress may have changed her preference of roles now that she has already made her mark in Bollywood after winning a couple of awards for her role in Fashion. 'Sheila Ki Jawani' is a rage

Farah Khan's three toddlers - Czar, Diva and Anya - can't seem to get enough of the song Sheila Ki Jawani that features in the director-choreographer's forthcoming directorial venture Tees Maar Khan.

"Diva and Anya keep singing and dancing to the song all day - Czar on the other hand attempts to play the track on his drums," a source says.

The triplets will turn three in February next year.

"It's a very cute sight. In fact. while Shirish (Kunder) was composing the music for the title track, Czar would accompany him to the studio and it's also no secret that he has the biggest crush on Katrina Kaif," the source adds.

Picturised on Katrina Kaif, the item number Sheila Ki Jawani is on its way to give competition to Munni Badnaam Hui of Dabangg.

Farah Khan's action comedy Tees Maar Khan starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif will hit the theatres on the Christmas eve.

The world of glitz and glamour is such that there are many who fall prey to it before realizing what a great demand this particular world has of the perfect look.
The perfect look includes not only a beautiful face with pearly white teeth and long hair but also having the right cheek bones, the right shape of lips and a perfect jaw line. Speaking of getting into the perfect mould, our Bollywood stars are not far behind in seeking the perfect look and body albeit with a little magic with the cosmetic surgeon's knife.

Ever since the new generation of top crop stars have set the trend, having perfect teeth is no longer considered a hindrance as it is an uncalled for rule that if one has to join in the bandwagon of tinsel town then going to the best dentist in town is the first step to be taken.

However, many of the top stars in Bollywood have gone on record accepting going under the surgeon's knife for the perfect look and yet there are others who refuse to even accept that a term called a plastic surgeon exists in their dictionary.

Well going by the trend in looking just perfect, there are many names that have cropped up while speaking of cosmetic surgery.

If reports are to be believed at least 80% of Bollywood actors have undergone cosmetic treatment to get their perfect look. Well, it is actually quite difficult to tell what's real and what's fake in today's plastic dolls of Bollywood.
